EKWATO était présent cette semaine (25/04/2023) à la réunion ʺWood you find it?ʺ organisée par FSC International à Bruxelles sur le sujet de la traçabilité en relation avec les exigences de la nouvelle réglementation ʺzéro déforestationʺ (RDUE) 🌲🌳🌍🌎.

📌 Astrid Ladefoged (EU) : ʺCoordinates [geolocation] are only for competent authorities. They will not be available publicly.ʺ / ʺBlockchain is not a requirement.ʺ / ʺIt is compulsory to know all sources [all plots of lands, regardless of quantity].ʺ

📌 Michael Marus (FSC) : ʺCompanies want more than certification.ʺ / ʺPrivacy for some data is fundamental.ʺ

📌 Anke Schulmeister-Oldenhove (WWF) : ʺOrigin of wood is not totally unknown for wood industries due to the EUTR since 2013. The problem is the power [to implement it].ʺ / ʺThe question for a company should be ‘do I trust my suppliers?’ ʺ

📌 Annie Adams (consultante) : ʺIt will change business and we have to accept that. We musn’t wait. Urgent action is needed now.ʺ / ʺWe are working on mooving target : we are sure that we are going to change.ʺ

📌 Joanna Nowakowska (FSC) : ʺThe problem is not the data [geolocation]. The problem is how travel the data. Everybody has to put the effort to make it works.ʺ
